Hiya,
Hope all is well at your ends!! Here's a quick tutorial for a cute mega bun I made at Savvy Chic Hair Beauty Hub the other day!

Start out with a a small weave pattern right in the middle of your head...
 Then we went ahead to crotchet some colored kinky hair on the weaving...

Sleeked up the rest of my hair and Voila!!!

Hi Ladies,
How Y'all doing? a la Wendy Williams!! Well its been a while since I posted a tutorial and its not like I've not had ideas but its more a situation of how many hats I am juggling at the moment but I am not complaining,..the Lord is my strength!!

Before I start this tutorial, who like me is counting down to the end of the 6 INCHES OF GROWTH CHALLENGE?!! I am so excited to see who of the 32 ladies that entered will win the $100 prize, who will closely follow behind and win compensation prices...This year's hair journey has been filled with major ups and downs for most of us but the important thing remains to keep your head up, be consistent, learn the right techniques and be patient!!!

Now unto the tutorial :)

P.s I cut quite a bit of my bone straight ends over the weekend, I'm cutting them gradually till all of my hair is texlaxed...so here's what I'm working with; In the pictures below I just loosened, moisturized and sealed my hair after leaving it in two plaits under my wig since after Saturday's weekend treat.

So Let's Begin...

Step 1- Comb all your hair down and smooth it out

Forced smile, Long day!!

Gather your hair to the top to gauge how high you want the bun.

Its time for the clip in extensions or if you want a more permanent bun, you can sew a track on a single flat plait.

For Clip in extensions, simply clip the extensions in middle of where your bun will be and the opposite direction towards your forehead.

Gather the hair and extensions together making sure that the surrounding hair especially at the back  and sides adequately cover the extension tracks.

Wrap the hair round in a bun... if you are using a doughnut enhancer, slip it over the hair and wrap the hair over the doughnut enhancer, distribute the extensions round the bun so they look like highlights and tuck them away...

 Smooth out your edges and Voila!!!

BLURRY CLOSEUP!!

As you can see it's super easy to do and a fun way to dress up the often boring protective style that is a bun!!
Mail me if you try this style out, I hope to try more variations of this style and you know where I will be posting them...on Instagram!! #soaddictive!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Hiya!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS PEOPLE!!!! May the reason for the season which is Christ show you all His unequivocal love, peace, grace and mercy even as we enter 2013!! Amen!!

Blogger Tonkabell of http://wurassecrethair.blogspot.com/ came with a fun idea of collaborating with different hair bloggers to create special looks for the holiday season. I was asked and of course I said yes!! Put on my protective style think cap and this is the hair style I came up with;

Its a cross between a  braiding technique I saw on You tube and a style I saw Demi Lavato wear on X Factor, she had her bangs turned up in a retro curl, I on the other hand, braided the ends of the front section of my hair in 3 big braids and curled them upwards and pinned them down, then for the back section using the technique I saw on You tube I twisted strands of hair at the back from the left to the right and had them all in one braid on the right hand side then tucked my ends neatly under!

I made this look on Sunday night and it has held up till today Boxing Day, all I have done is spritz water/glycerin over the hair sparingly and smooth out the edges to keep things fresh! I like that the style is a nod to the oldies.. what say you? Do u like my Jingle bell rock hair style, any of you sporting different looks for the holidays?

Well, below are the Fab bloggers that took part in the JINGLE BELL ROCK HAIR SPECIAL; Check their hair styles out and for more detailed explanations of how they got their styles together, please click their names to link their blogs!!

Hiya,
How is everyone doing? I am really feeling the love from you my readers and I thank you all immensely for the support! Your the reason I keep blogging!!

Well Friday the 22nd was my hubby's birthday and though  we were not going out, we had friends and family over and of course that meant I had to look good and rep my man properly!!!*wide grin*

So I decided to play with my hair a little and I came up with this fancy, simple, elegant style I'd like to share here.

 By now I am sure you all know how much I Love big braids, it all started from my wedding!! since then I find every excuse to revamp this hair style. Let me take you through how I achieved this look.

First I parted the front part of my hair to the side like this;

Then I braided the front section into one big braid and pinned it at the back;

To make it look even bigger, I tugged the braid which made it fatter and flatter( making it a pancake braid)

Then I smooth out my edges and put the rest of the hair in a top knot with the knot fanned out as much as possible;

Because my ends were sticking out, I wrapped them round the hair ruffle like this but if your ends won't stick out, leave some hair out of the knot and wrap that hair round the ruffle, it gives it a more sophisticated look;

AND VIOLA!! Simple, uncomplicated but pretty (if I may say so myself)! My hubby loved it :)

 What do you think of this hair stlyle? Is it something you would try out? You do not need long hair for this style o, as long as your hair can be in a ponytail, you are good to go!!

Anyways that's the end of my post, I just wanted to update you guys on what I have been up to hair wise. Thanks to all those who have entered the NHCG GIVEAWAY, for those interested, there is still time to enter before the month ends!! Till my next post; Take Care!

Hiya,
I decided to start a new segment here called Be INSPIRED!! Basically, I will interview ladies with healthy, long relaxed hair and find out a little bit more about their hair care regimen, hair goals etc. Naturally I decided to start off with family, so dear Naija Hair Can Grow family, meet my younger sister- MINA!!

Hi Mina,

How long is your hair?
Mina; Its Bra Strap  Length at the longest part

Has it been Chemically treated?
Mina; well I am relaxed, been relaxed since High School, I have also dyed my hair darker and then auburn in the past. That's about all.

Is this the longest your hair has been?

Mina; Yes but it was almost this long at University but bad management broke it all off so I had to start to afresh in 2009.

How did u start afresh?

Mina;  I cut it off to neck length above my shoulder, by the start of  2011 my hair was sitting comfortably on my shoulders

So How did you grow it out?

Mina;  No more dyes, prolonged relaxer stretches to 8 / 12 weeks from every 4 weeks (lol Can't believe I used to relax my hair every month!!) I use non alcholic gels, no more weaves, basically try to be as natural as possible.

 During your relaxer stretches what do you?

Mina; Brush it, avoid combing except just to detangle and I use gel for the edges, I am in a non fashion oriented profession!(medicine) so I am not out to make fashion statements!LOL! I also do big braids  but not Ghana weaving! Love my edges too much for that!

What are your fave hair products/accessories;

Mina; soft bristle hair brushes, cantu Shea butter, Proclaim hair gel, extra virgin olive oil, ORS deep conditioner and I love big snap clips because they are easy to use, tangle free and apply less stress on your ends;

What relaxer are you using at the moment;

Mina; soft and beautiful for kids but I am not particular about relaxers, I just like anything that loosens my curl pattern a little bit. I have even stopped expecting to get bone straight hair results because it never happens for me that's why I switched to a kids relaxer kit.

What products don't you like?

Mina; Hair detanglers do not work for your my hair, can't stand them!

So what detangles your hair?

Mina;  Glycerin and water mixture thanks to you sis! It just takes all the tangles out!!

Are you facing any hair challenge presently?

Mina; YES!!My hair is shedding big time!!I'm fed up! It causing me to have uneven ends but thing is, those ends are healthy as well and I am reluctant to trim them off!!

Naija Hair can grow recommendation; 'Mina a regular black tea rinse once a week could be the answer to your shedding woes! thank God its just shedding and not breaking!! Also trim those ends, your hair will grow back!!!'

Favorite protective hairstyle?

Mina; a solid bun and I also love bantu knots
Any hair goals?

Mina; Butt length!lol

Realistic goals please?

Mina;  Ok ok mid back length is my goal

Any weekend hair rituals?

Mina; Not really because I am very busy but when I visit this blog I get excited always to give my hair a treat!

Thanks Mina for sharing all this info about your hair, we wish you the best!! Happy growing :) And happy growing days to my readers as well!! This month this blog turns 1 and I am super excited and will be doing a giveaway in the coming weeks so stay tuned and thanks for all the support!!
