Hope all is well at your ends!! It's that time of the year again- The annual Salon Day Out Event is one I look forward to every year...this year I am so excited to share the plans we have!! I finally reached out to hairlistas and got an overwhelming amount of volunteers to help out this year and that truly warmed my heart!!! Thank you to all the volunteers and to all of you who keep supporting this blog here and on Instagram!


Well to the agenda of the day, as always we will be CELEBRATING HEALTHY HAIR!! 

This means that no matter the nature of the hair- relaxed,  natural, texlaxed, loced...as long as it's healthy or your desire for it to be healthy, it's worth celebrating and you should attend!! 

We will start the day at 12 noon sharp with the HAIR JOURNEY SERIES- We have 4 speakers this year who will be sharing their hair journeys, the ups, downs, in betweens, tips and tricks on hair styling, maintenance and growth...these Hairlistas are-

After the Hair Journey Series, at about 2pm, we will proceed with a SEMINAR by Omozo of O'Naturals Salon-  She will be speaking on the topic- SO YOU WANT TO OWN A NATURAL HAIR SALON? She will share her experiences, what inspired her to own a natural hair salon, the journey so far...if you have ever wanted to own a salon, don't miss this seminar as she will be willing to take questions!! At 3pm- We will have a LIVE WIG MAKING TUTORIAL By Alex of NAPPY HAIRED WIGS! Quickly Followed by a LIVE PIXIE CUT MAKEOVER- One lucky relaxed attendant will win this hair cut makeover-  The guys at Patrick's Beauty Zone will be showing of their amazing cutting skills and I know you don't want to miss this!!

Kemi Lewis has something special for one lucky attendee's natural tresses!! She will be styling the hair live on stage as usual-


After that, it will be time for some healthy competition!!! This year we are having an INSTANT BATTLE OF THE HAIRLISTAS- Meaning, there will be no prior meeting of contestants, we will pick hairlistas from the audience and they will partake in a series of contests we have planned. The winner gets a nice grand prize!!

While all this is taking place, we have a great selection of vendors with their products offering amazing deals!! 
Vendors include- *Mane Choice Africa, We Naturals, Nubian Roots, Zee Eight, Kijani Organics, Kui Care,  Sahara Sunrise and so on!!

There will also be a Trichology clinic created in the corner from 4pm- 6pm where I will be taking close examinations at ladies scalps, diagnosing hair/scalp conditions and dishing out treatment advice etc like I do for my clients!!

Hiya,
It's another Sunday and this time I have a video for you guys. If you remember, I told you I recorded the renovations taking place at the hub while I set up the nails section of the hub. Without much ado, here's the video, the fun part of it was that I recorded a shopping trip I took in Texas as I shopped for the reno, there's also funny clips of my extremely annoying painter who drives me nuts and I think I'll never engage him with any work again( but I've said this many times!!) LOL!!

How are you doing? Hope well!! I have been soooo busy I'm sure you can tell....the blog is so dusty, cobwebs everywhere!! But please bear with me, its because of all the running around I've been doing for the Salon Day Out on the 7th of June!!

This post is going to give a brief summary of the exciting vendors that will be at the Salon Day Out, so without much ado, let's start with-






- Expect their vast collection of oils, their leave-in conditioner (which I have raved about, love it!), their clays, flaxseed and lots more healthy, all natural products!!

African Naturalistas recently re-branded and have a great selection of home grown Nigerian products, I particularly LOVE their leave in which I reviewed some time ago!!

- Beauty Revolution will be present too...you know all those products You Tube beauty gurus rave about? If you have been in search of them, these guys are the go to stall for such finds!!



- Got introduced to this company by Kemi Lewis( Hey Gurl!!), looking forward to their soaps and skin care products...more excuse to indulge!!



- HAIRVEN make hair products guaranteed to elongate the quality and lifespan of hair weaves and extensions at an affordable price and they will be present also!!







- Sizzelle are like the ying to Savvy & Chic's yang!! They will have all the popular and favorite hair products on most hair regimens...so if we don't have it, they've got it (and vice versa :)!!









Finally Savvy & Chic Hair Beauty Hub!!! We will be there life and direct :) with our array of imported hair products as well as home grown brands we support at the hub and our bespoke creations like the SHEA BUTTER CUPS, SATIN SLEEP CAPS and we will introduce our new product which is the Savvy Chic 2-WAY SILK SCARF!!

FAUX LOCS ARE SO IN RIGHT NOW...Everyone loves them, both ladies that are natural or relaxed and I have been drooling over getting them done for at least a year!!

We have had a number of clients come in for regular faux locs;


And after hours on end I can feel their frustration, it honestly 

takes the whole day!!! Even with as many as 3 stylists 

tugging at your head...at the end, the hair is no doubt 

beautiful but the clients are tired and in pain and so are the 

stylists!!

Something had to be done....*cue superman music*

Anyways, without much ado, I had my stylists create the 

individual locs on a thread; I wanted just 25 locs, you can 

make them what ever size you like...



Then I twisted my hair in big sections as they attached each loc to my hair- I will not divulge exactly how that was done as it is a trade secret for now *wide grin*...

All it took was an hour forty five minutes as I took note and 
that was because my hair is longer and needed more time for my stylists to skillfully attach each loc to my twists and conceal the hair!

The result was really real looking faux locs which I have been rocking and loving for a whole week,except when its time to sleep- not the most comfortable hairstlye!!

When I take them out, the locs will still remain INTACT!! Allowing me to keep them and use them the next time I choose to rock faux locs....seeing as I used about 5 packs of Marley hair, this is very cost effective as most of you will know marley hair is not cheap or easy to come by in these parts.


Et Voila!! Faux Locs without the wait, pain or strain!!
