NAIJA HAIR CAN GROW
Hiya,
So I have been meaning to write a post on this hair trend but I have been putting it off. Today, I have finally decided is the day to ask you WOULD YOU EVER SHAVE HALF OF YOUR HAIR OFF?!! I think the first time I ever saw this hair trend rocked was when Cassie did it !!!

I remember going, 'What the Heck did she do that for!!' But I must admit that it is bold, gives off a tough girl with a soft side vibe and makes a statement no doubt! Any woman that can rock this hair trend has a strong sense of individuality and spunk in my opinion!! Personally I cannot rock this hair style because I will get bored out of my mind and one day I will just want all the hair from the shaved off side to grow back!! But the trend is catching on and a lot of women are going ahead and shaving off one side of their hair. Below are some pictures of women Rocking this hair trend!

This lady keeps it simple like Cassie, shaven head on one side and soft curls on the other....

This Lady is a little bit more adventurous, dying her hair orangy red and leaving the other side with a TWA (Teeny Weeny Afro)

This Lady goes all out Gasta with it!! By spiking up the rest of her hair and adding auburn highlights to her hair!! Cool!!
Well Well, If you are as daring as these ladies, go for the plung will ya!! Shave off one side of your hair, I'd LOVE to see pictures. I have not really seen this trend catch on in Naija, people rather get a weave and crop one side lower than the other side like Nene Leakes  does below
  But that's about it, so I wanna ask you my readers would you or have you tried this hair trend? Let me know below, you can also send me pictures of how you rock this style to the facebook group 'Naija hair can grow!!'  and I'll put the picture up on the blog if you don't mind :)

Thanks for stopping by'

Hiya,
its been a long while, pardon my absence!! I have been so busy lately I could not sit down and get my thoughts together. Anyways, hope all is well people!

Now to my topic, You know how it feels when your new growth has started springing up and your hair at the roots gets thicker and more difficult to comb? Well I have a quick and straight forward solution to help out with those roots until your next relaxer treatment. I call it a ROOT BLAST!!

All you need is a hair brush( the bristles should not be too soft or too strong)
You will also need a Blow dryer that has a funnel mouth so you can direct the heat to your roots;
All you simply do is, first moisturize and seal your hair root to tip as always, then section your hair into desired sections, use the brush to brush out your roots in a down ward or upward motion, keep the brush in place as it stretches your roots and then use your blowdryer to blast your roots with air in the direction your roots are facing. Below are pictures of me getting a root blast!

The success of your Root Blast depends largely on your ability to firmly hold your brush as it stretches your roots. Applying hot air for a few minutes to actually get it straight and then cool air to seal your cuticles and give it shine will give the best results!

 To avoid hair breakage, do not use the brush to brush out your hair from root to tip, thats why it called a root blast because the aim is to concentrate on getting the roots of your hair loosened like you have straightened them or texturized them( they can never be as sraight as a relaxer would get them though). In getting the roots loosened your hair will be more manageable in terms of combing and you will be able to stretch that relaxer a little bit longer.

A Root Blast is recommended after about 8weeks post relaxer. If you want to stretch your relaxer to like 10 or 12 weeks and beyond, doing it once a week if you need it that bad after your hair has been freshly washed is not a bad idea!!

Below is a picture of my roots, the right side has been blasted and the left side of my roots hasn't and you can clearly see the difference, while the left side still has tight curls at the roots that can easily tangle and frustrate the heck out of me, the right side's roots are straighter and looser making it easier for me to stretch my relaxer!!
So think about getting a Root Blast and feel free to let me know how it works for you. Thanks for stopping by!!

Hiya,
Can you believe it, the year is almost over!!!Welcome to Sweet November Y'all!! Wishing you all things sweet!!!Well I hope all my hair tips and tricks have been helpful to you my dear readers, I will keep coming back here as often as I can to let you in on simple hair secrets to keep your hair growing longer and stronger cuz believe it or not, Naija hair can grow o!!!

This time around I have come up with a post focused on getting the ends of your hair healthy and strong. As you all should know, the ends of your hair are the oldest part of your hair, if you have long hair your ends sometimes can be over three years old that is why you must look after them and prevent them from breaking off and getting limp and weak if you are to record any kind of hair growth progress. The BAGGING method is a great way to focus on your hair ends, infusing them with the needed oil and conditioning treatments they might be lacking due to their age. Look at your ends like you look at your grandma, if you are travelling with her and wanna get off the plane, do you shove right past her and leave her to wobble down the plane stairs not caring if she falls down or gets hurt? I'm guessing not, rather you would hold her hand and make sure you carefully usher her down the plane step by step, going at her own pace. That's the same way you should treat your ends! you should give them the most attention in whatever treatment you do to your hair. Work your way up gently till you get to your young and agile roots!!

Ok Ok enough rambling already, let me show you how to bag your ends!!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED;
A Cellophane Bag(Roll down the mouth)
AND  Your collection of hair oils and conditioner (optional);
Simply pour your oils and conditioner if you want in the cellophane bag;
Mix the oils in the bag or you could apply the oils directly to the ends of your hair which should be held in a ponytail. Bag your ends with the cellophane bag and its contents(if you choose to pour them in the bag) and MASSAGE your ends!!
Secure the Cellophane bag round the ponytail with a clip if you have to;
Leave your bagged up ends over night, this will allow your ends soak up all the oil and conditioner giving it the needed attention and strength to withstand breakage and split ends. This method will NOT mend split ends but if done regularly, it can prevent you from having more split ends!

Why the Cellophane bag? The cellophane bag serves the same purpose as your shower cap in hair treatments, it prevents air from getting into your ends and drying them out but rather creates heat at the ends of your hair thereby allowing your hair shaft to open up and absorb all the oils. You can Bag your ends as a Preepoo treatment Step and then Co-Wash after you take em out. Either way, your ends will thank you for bagging them!!

Hope this post is helpful!! I do not want to believe I and my sisters are the only Naija girls with growing hair oh!! so please if you have before and after pics of your hair since you started your hair journey please send them to the facebook page 'Naija hair can grow' and lets send a message to all those Naija gals who have given up on their natural hair abilities. I'm expecting your feed back. Thanks for stopping by!!
