Hiya,
How's everyone doing? Hope well! In my last post, I shared that I was going to get some crotchet braids done...well I had been eyeing this newly revived box braid bob hairstyle;

PHOTO CREDITS- INSTAGRAM/GOOGLE SEARCH

And you and I know there was no way I was going to cut my hair in a bob for this hairstyle, so I decided to try the next best thing- CROTCHET BRAIDS!

I decided to use some blonde in front to give the hair style that extra oomph!!

The installation was relatively pain free, there were a few naughty strands that were too thick to form a secure knot so we left those out and for those trying to DIY, make sure the hole at the start of the braid is big enough for the braid to pass through and you should be fine.

I had these in for just a little over a week and got bored/hot (perks of having a salon, free hair!!), to maintain it...all I did was spritz my scalp nightly and oil my edges so the extensions didn't dry the hair out. In terms of longevity I think this hairstyle has the tendency to get rough early especially if like I did, the tips are burnt...what I would do differently next time is not burn the tips but have them securely tied and the ends cut blunt like I've seen others do because I found that the burnt ends were sticking together and pulling the hair apart from the strands causing them not to look neat, to remedy this I just simply trimmed the braids that had hair sticking out and the great part was I trimmed with no fear since my hair was not in any of the braids.

Took the braids out some nights ago and something very interesting happened but that's a post for another day, let's move on to what's in store at SAVVY & CHIC HAIR BEAUTY HUB from tomorrow Black Friday till Christmas Eve!!

Hiya,
 Its been a minute!! I have been super busy rounding up my trip, preparing to come back to Lagos- Lasgidi with all the hustle and bustle I always sigh about... but I am the first to admit how much I miss the place when I am gone for a while :)

Anyways on our topic...Who has ever heard of HAIRFINITY? Say I!!

 I can hear the resounding I's!! On our quest for long, healthy hair, we hear about all sorts of remedies and I too heard about Hairfinity, shrugged my shoulder, turned my nose up and walked away mainly because like HAIR TRIGGER I thought the name was obnoxious (oh so now I am supposed to believe when I take it I will have hair to infinity?- marketing gimmick was what I thought ), then the second reason which actually is the main reason I walked away is the fact that Hiarfinity are vitamin capsules and I cannot stand taking pills except I absolutely have to... So this begs the question; Why write about them?

I am writing because for the past month I have gotten quite a number of mails from ladies who want to give Hairfinity a go, some have tried it for a while, love it and say it works, others are going on the good testimonials from the internet, so I said to myself, what kind of hair blogger would I be if I don't research on this product for my Naija sisters...and so I went to work and I am here with my preliminary findings...

What's in It?

source

VITAMINS; A, C, D3, B1,2,3,6, B12- these vitamins are mostly packed with antioxidants that help nourish and renew the blood cells in the skin and scalp, prevent hair shedding and thinning and basically help maintain a healthy scalp.

CALCUIM- helps stimulates the hair follicles and promote hair growth at the roots.

FOLIC ACID- like calcium, aids in cell regeneration that helps maintain healthy hair follicles.

 BIOTIN 2500MCG- is a vitamin, also known as Vit B7 or Vit H, it stimulates the follicles and helps in hair growth while minimizing hair loss.

PANTOTHENIC ACID- also known as Vitamin B5 helps improve the quality of the hair strands and prevent hair thinning.

CAPILSONA- The company's unique blend of Hydrolyzed Collagen, MSM, and Silica provides 18 Amino Acids, which are the building blocks of the protein that gives hair it's strength. The exclusive complex also provides sulfur required for healthy collagen and keratin, which are essential to healthy hair growth. (from company website)

MSM- (Methylsulfonylmethane ) The sulfur provided by MSM is required for healthy collagen and keratin, which are essential for healthy hair growth.

As you can see, Hairfinity is PACKED with all the essentials for hair growth as every single ingredient on the list is a hair growth aid.

Company Claims;
The company claims that taking 2 capsules of Hairfinity a day will transform your hair from INSIDE OUT, from SCALP to TIP!! That by taking it, your hair will grow faster, longer, thicker, stronger and more vibrant.

MY TAKE; While the ingredients are definitely all about hair growth from within with the help of vitamins, it must be noted that most of the food we eat on a daily basis, especially Naija ladies whose only diet is NOT RICE...give us these vitamins. Just taking Vitamin B as an example; foods rich in this vitamin include-potatoes, beans, oranges, carrots, oatmeal, soybeans, leafy veggies, peanuts, meats...the list goes on!!

 To me except you are vitamin deficient as in you have been told by a doctor that you are...then taking these vitamins will only compliment the other sources of your diet that give you these vitamins and so (HERE IS WHERE I BUST SOME BUBBLES)- That exceptional faster growing, longer, thicker, stronger hair you want when you start taking Hairfinity might not be as easy to come by...

I went ahead to watch quite a number of Youtube video reviews which I urge those interested in this product to watch and I have read reviews of this product (not on their website of course-no bias) and let's just say, the results are not exactly unbelievable, remarkable or  miraculous...the results I have seen are results achieved from taking good, consistent care of one's hair and having the dietary support to achieve health from inside out, its that simple...

So Do I Recommend it? Yes, I recommend Hairfinity and any other dietary supplement if you are deficient of basic vitamins that promote hair growth and health; signs that you have a deficiency include scalp disease, fraying and thinning hair, brittle nails, hair discoloration etc...but it is always better to confirm from your doctor the exact deficiency.

I also recommend it for ladies who just need that extra umph! but for these ladies I must say read my post on managing your hairxpectations HERE because the last thing I want ladies to do is jump on the Hairfinity Train and then 2, 3 months down the line they are mailing in about how it does not work, they cannot notice any difference etc. It will definitely make the QUALITY of your hair feel better as for making your hair grow faster than your hair has been programmed to grow? I doubt it, maybe you will retain more growth and with growth retention automatically comes length...

Ps; I had the blog changed up a bit last week to a tiffany blue themed template, but then I missed my ethereal pink template so much, it hurt my eyes just looking at the blue, so things are back to being pink again :) but two new pages have been added; DAB'S TALKS BEAUTY and INTERIOR DECOR BY DAB'S- 2 of my other interests shared here :) If you want to read my first post on the beauty page titled; THE QUEST FOR MY PERFECT FOUNDATION SHADE!! Check back on the blog during the week :)

As usual, thanks for stopping by!!!
