Hi Ladies!! How's everyone doing?!! Hope well!! After years and years of buying wigs, on my last trip to the US I was on the hunt for the perfect kinky textured wig, I searched all the beauty supply stores around me to no avail! So I decided I'd make one!

I wanted it to be human hair not synthetic so it lasts longer...I also wanted it unprocessed (virgin) so it looks as natural as possible!! I found all that was on my check list with the Sensationnel Naked Nature Wet n Wavy hair!

The Naked Nature Collection comes in 5 different curl textures as you can see above as well as different lengths, it also has about 6 to 7 bundles of hair to make one full head! It also comes with a silk base closure if you don't want to leave any hair out.

I got this one;

The Bohemian Curl, got mine in the 10, 12 and 14 inches length bundle. I simply glued the tracks on a wig cap with bonding glue and left out the closure because I wanted my hair left out so it looks more realistic.

The glue worked perfectly fine but if you are going to be wearing this wig everyday then I think sewing the tracks on the cap will work better!

You guys, I LOVE THIS HAIR SOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! I can't even begin to tell you how superior the hair quality is compared to my other wigs, even the human hair ones that cost a fortune!! This hair at the length I chose is less than $100 but if you choose longer lengths the price increases...regardless I think for the quality the pricing is very moderate!!

I experienced ZERO shedding with this hair, detangling is a breeze, all you need is water!! The curls clump back together into its wavy state and it's just so beautiful!! I love this hair so much that I am going to get another pack in a longer length this time, I also will be coloring the hair so the color matches my own hair (which is not black) better.

The thing I love about this hair as a wig is that when I wear it, I don't feel like I am wearing a wig!! It's not heavy or ''wiggy'' and uncomfortable...did I say I love this hair?!! LOL

I am going to be REOPENING IMPORT WINDOWS Ladies!!! Hiya Ladies,
I promised a few posts ago to do a post about wigs I sell at the hub. These wigs were specially curated by me using price, style,quality/hair texture and closure/hair parting as a guide.

You see from my previous wig posts that I like to use wigs as protective styles only if they are not super expensive, the style is 'wear and go'( low maintenance), the the hair texture mimics relaxed Afro hair (not too silky) finally the closure if it's lace or other wise must be natural and easy to blend.

All the wigs below qualify with the above criteria and are up for sale, I will be posting their names,pictures,color available and price they presently retail for at the hub however I am offering a special discounted price to NHCG blog readers for a limited time...continue reading to find out....

Hiya,
So I apologize...it took people emailing me asking me if there was something wrong with my blog for me to realize I hadn't posted this....I got some wigs that I love for various reasons....let's get straight to it!

So The first one I got was the last one and they had it only in this color and I was skeptical at first but I decided to just get it and have it be my 'feeling spicy' wig!

The wig is by a brand called Isis, it comes with a 'silk top' and soft lace, the cap construction of this wig is OFF THE CHARTS! By far the most comfi wig cap I've worn out of all my wigs including the super expensive ones like the RPG show one and that is the first reason I love this wig...it is inexpensive at less than $100 unit cost.

I also love that the roots are dark so blending any hairline that showed was not a problem...I used some concealer on the parting as you can see...this creates the illusion of a scalp.

The hair itself isn't 100% human hair but human hair blend but surprisingly I have experienced little shedding, itching or tangling that usually happens with synthetic hair...this must be really top grade synthetic as I can curl and straighten the hair with a curling iron....but who needs to,have you seen these curls they created??

CUT IT A LITTLE SHORTER AT THE BACK....

These curls are going No- Where anytime soon!!

In sum....you know I love this wig and will be repurchasing it in another color, the great thing about inexpensive wigs is when they give way you can replace them without feeling too bad but when you are spending $400/$500 on a wig?? #girlbye (my new favorite ratchet slang LOL)

Now unto the second one....my sis calls it the 'I'm a mummy' wig but I love this wig for times when I want to change things up a bit...

It's by Freetress and is a little cheaper which was great! The hair isn't human either and was quite shinny when I first got it...eek

However as I've rocked it a few times the shine is going and I love the swoop bang and bouncy curls which I feel will look better as they get looser...

The cap isn't that great but not horrible, just basic and lace on it came with an L part which I thought was neat for people who don't want to invest in a full lace front but compared to the silk top you can easily see that it's inferior in making the hair look like it's naturally parted and the hair is growing from my scalp....but stillllll I love iittttt!

As you well know this year it's all about mastering protective styling for me so my hands are not constantly in my hair all the time causing havoc and wigs are the perfect stylish protective style.

For storage, I stuff the cap with the paper that it came with and then I place it back in the pack and slip the picture over the wig so I can see through when I'm choosing

...been storing my wigs that way and they stay fresh...

Finally when on my head, I like the front to pop up like this;

And I use hair spray to keep the shape in tact...

That's all for now ladies....when the import window opens in April or if you need it sooner feel free to order any of these or any wig of your preference I'll see if I can assist, just contact me as usual- daboju@yahoo.com.

Hiya,
How's everyone doing? Hope well. I have quite a busy week ahead and tasked myself to churn out all the posts that have been waiting on my memo pad by the weekend then this happened yesterday;

 My Instafam have already seen this picture, this fully wired PHCN pole(here the electricity officials had taken out the wires) was hit by a trailer and fell unannounced in front of my office gate seconds after my car drove into the gate...I'm talking like 5 seconds, if for any reason we paused at the gate, this pole would had fallen on the car, crushed and most likely electrocuted me and my driver....the thought of how God saved my life left me all shaken up and recoiled from my busy life all day yesterday...because at the end of the day NOTHING else would have mattered if I was in a hospital fighting for my life this moment.

Sometimes these types of things happen so God gets our attention and reminds us that He is the ONLY reason why we are still here, we must commit our ways to Him  and pray for direction always. I am beyond thankful to say the least...

Now to this post, I mentioned that I ordered a wig from a company called RPG SHOW , it is the Beyonce inspired bob wig-

Well it finally got here and I recorded a video on You Tube of the unboxing;

VIDEO LINK (Blogger is not finding the video so I have to put up this link, just click and watch).

For those who can't watch, here are a few pictures of the wig as I got it;

Then I dyed it because the color was too jolting for me;
I used Dark and Lovely's radiant cooper dye and Loreal's color mousse;

Applied both...

It looked brownish when wet...

Dried out redish...

Final results...

To blend the lace with my hair line, I used a concealer on the hair part. The wig is light weight, lace is not itchy, hair feels great...What more could I ask for!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Announcing the Awoof tomorrow so stay tuned people!!

Hiya,
Hope all is well at your ends! This post is all about my new found intrigue for wigs as a protective style. How can anyone not be intrigued with the beyond fabulous wigs everyone is wearing these days! Sometimes I have to do a double take...had to get in on the action and as I researched, I soon discovered that things have completely changed.

In 2010 when I last was into wigs, I bought them all! Half wigs that required the front part of the hair to be left out(not as protective as I'd liked) then lace wigs came along but most of them had the strongest scratchiest laces that barely made a parting, so after buying 3 or 4, I gave up! Then there was the hair quality to contend with! Those cheap and cheerful synthetic wigs shed like crazy! Even those that claimed to be human hair were questionable but like I said, things sure have changed...if you are like me just getting updated in the game, quality wigs now have super cool features that you need to be aware of...let me list them...

SILK TOPS;
I am not talking about clothing! After doing my research, I found that nowadays wigs now have what's called a "silk top"-

As you can see from the picture above, silk tops basically give the appearance that the hair is growing from the scalp, though the color of the silk top in this picture is way too light to be a black woman's scalp but I've seen really good silk tops that make the wigs look so realistic and the best bit is you don't have to leave any hair out!!

Bleached knots; If silk tops are not your thing, then maybe bleached knots will do!

 Basically, the roots of the lace front wig are bleached a lighter color so it blends better with your hair line and parting!(Who thinks of all these things!lol)-Some people have tried to do this on their own but its risky business as the color might not come out right and look all orangey!!

Yaki texture;After countless You Tube videos on wigs, I got EDUCATED!! Well apparently, Yaki textured wigs are better for us women of color because they mimic our hair texture when its relaxed and straightened. So if you are getting a wig and there's an option between Yaki and silky textured, get the yaki texture.

Wash and Deep condition; Yup!Wigs these days are made from high quality actual human hair(which actually grosses me out and I don't like to ponder too much on that aspect), so when you get them, most people say its best wash and deep condition them especially if they have been dyed a lighter color. This is to take off any residue and stiffness from the processing of the wigs.

Full lace-French lace;There are lace front wigs and there are full lace wigs, after seeing all the reviews on You Tube, I think full lace wigs made from soft french lace are the way to go because you can part them how ever you like!

Glue less cap; From what I gathered,these are better than

caps requiring glue like the picture above...don't get me started on glued lace fronts from 2010!! Ladies were gluing these wigs to their foreheads and eyebrows!!LOL...well nowadays wigs simply come with combs and adjustable straps making them super comfortable and snug without the commitment;

Baby hairs; Let me talk like my African American sisters, 'Girl how you gonna get a wig without them baby hairs? you know that ain't right!!.'LOL!! Nowadays wigs have baby hair around the hairline but PLEASE don't lay them like back in 2010, they are best used to blend the little hairline hair you leave out if you so choose.

Like I said gone are the days ladies left the house in wigs like this;
link
Is this even a wig?!! LOL wetin person no go see!!

So you know that after all this wig research, I had to get one from the most talked about and hyped wig company on You Tube- RPGSHOW!!!Website. If you go on You tube and search for wig reviews, you will see that this company makes THE BEST lace wigs in the market, most of their wigs are celebrity inspired so you can have the Kim Kardashian wig or Beyonce and a host of others, after debating on which one to get, I settled for...the BEYONCE WIG *Wide grin*

Remember when Beyonce wore this hairstyle;

Well they created a wig that looks just like it;

Choose it because of the color and cut, cant wait till its here, I'll do an unboxing video on my youtube channel, I like those a lot :)

Well that's all for this post, for those that have been in the dark about wigs, hope you enjoyed getting updated!

For this weekend's treat, I whipped up a CHOCOCOCO Hair gloss basically made from pure cocoa powder and coconut oil, I personally added Hair trigger in mine to address shedding....It smells DIVINE!!!

Benefits include;

CHOCO-
Adding shine and smooths out the hair shaft. Cocoa has flavanoids, rich in magnesium,  protein, riboflavin, vitamin A and thiamine; minerals that helps to combat hair loss. Contains one of the highest levels of antioxidants than many other sources on Earth, which is also really great for your skin.
Also, if used consistently over time, the cocoa powder can darken the hair strands
COCONUT OIL; Strengthening- bonds with protein bonds in the hair, moisturizes the hair and prevents it from being dry and brittle.

As usual this treat is available at the Hub this weekend- 34a Awolowo Rd, Ikoyi Lagos.

Thanks for stopping by!!

PS. Have you seen the changes I've made to the blog- well I edited the shop NHCG and turned into the NAVIGATE NHCG Page, I picked basic topics for hair journey beginners and posted the direct links to posts I have written over the four yearS span of this blog, check on it if you are new in the game or refer someone to it that's just starting out.
