Hiya Ladies,
So a few Saturdays ago, on Children's Day, I hosted a Mommy & Me party to officially launch the hair care journal I wrote for babies based on my experience caring for Mimi's hair.

Speakers Oluchi of MunaandLuchi- hair care coach, Kelechi of Yellow Sisi Natural hair salon talked about hair care and grooming for kids from an early age, Fabila of Fabila's fitness talked about how she lost her post baby weight with Zumba, see her class schedule HERE and Wura of Wura's Secret Hair shared the journey to her kid's line of hair products.  It was a truly insightful time, thanks to all the yummy mummies who took out time to bring their babies for the event!!

Enjoy the pictures below;

Hiya Ladies,
I am here to bring you my first product review of the year!!! Natural Nigerian is a proudly Nigerian brand that has produced many of my favorite hair and skin care products!! I attended a hair meet up for the first time many years ago organized by them, bought my first bottle of JBCO at that meet up and got to meet and mingle with fellow hair fanatics for the first time in Nigeria...since then lets just say I am loyal!!

NN has evolved from just selling natural based products to making them!! #GROWTH!! When I saw her latest addition was a kit for babies I knew I had to get one!!! Been using the products on my Mimi since I got them.

Here's my  review of the products;

First, I like the packaging!!! The colors are very in line with the baby theme. Wish the sizes were bigger though!!

Cost- N5000

The kit contains;

                            1 Baby wash 13.5oz
                            1 Baby  Lotion 13.5oz
                            1 Baby oil 1.7oz

The Baby Wash with Red Acalypha and Nettle. Ingredients also include Cocoa pod, Ash, Water, Shea Butter, Palm Kernel oil, Aloe Vera juice, vegetable glycerin and red grapefruit.

I like how Mimi's skin felt after I used this, clean but not squeaky clean to the point where her skin feels dry!! It has a citrus smell which is nice and not over bearing, it doesn't foam up tremendously which I don't mind...my only little critic would be that it is not 'tear free'. When I washed Mimi's face with it and a little of it got in her eyes she started itching vigorously till I washed it out, so I would advice to just wipe around the face region and be mindful of the eyes when using this wash.

The Baby Lotion contains Red acalypha and nettle (herbs), coconut oil, aloe vera, shea butter, cetyl alcohol, salicylic acid...

I found the lotion quite moisturizing on Mimi's skin which tends to be dry. It has a mild vanilla scent and has an off white color look to it which I don't mind. Here my only little critic is that it was very watery when I initially got it and hardened up after a few days I guess because it contains shea butter and coconut oil which are sensitive to heat/cold...this however made it quite difficult for the lotion to pass through the pump and I ended up having to open the pump and force the product out several times, based on it's consistency, I would have preferred if it was in a tub.

The Baby Oil with Calendula also contains Chamomile oil, red acalypha oil, stinging nettle oil, coconut oil, vitamin E, Tea Tree oil, Lavender oil.

This Oil is colorless and has a mild mix of palm kernel scent with Lavender scent. I liked it because it did not just sit on her skin, It got absorbed as expected because the bottle says it contains NO MINERAL OIL and NO SYNTHETIC OIL or fragrances. I use it especially on her legs and feet and I have found it quite handy in her diaper bag because of it's size.

After Bath Time comes Bed Time!!! Mimi and I are rocking our SAVVY CHIC SATIN SLEEP CAPS!!!

All in All, I think NN has done an excellent job with this. I purchased this kit with my own money and was not compensated for this review so you can be rest assured that every opinion I have written above is my authentic view ladies!!

Have any of you tried this Kit? Feel free to share your thoughts below!!

 WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCT TO USE FOR YOUR BABY?

Hiya Ladies,
How is everyone doing? Hope well!! This post is all about my Mimi baby!! She knew what she signed up for when she agreed to come down from heaven and be my daughter!! LOL!!!

Well this past Saturday I made my first concoction for her hair it was a moisture treatment, I came up with a special blend which I will share soon, just know it contains Honey :)

I also used the savvy chic ultimate grow scalp massager to massage her scalp gently while the DC mix was on her hair, used cling film for a Saran Wrap then covered her head with her satin cap...

Proceeded to rinse it out after 30 minutes which surprisingly passed by quickly without her fussing too much save for the initial confusion she had while I wrapped her head with the cling film.

We proceeded to air dry and then moisturized, sealed and styled!!

HAPPY BABY HAIR!!

I'll have a short clip of the process on Instagram tomorrow. Hope mums are encouraged to care for their little princesses hair with these posts.

Hi ladies,
If you follow me on Instagram you already saw the picture of the satin sleep cap I made for my 3 Weeks old daughter...yes you read right!! Babies need some TLC too you know!!

The idea came when I was thinking about how to avoid that line of demarcation babies have at the back their heads...my two boys had it and it drove me crazy but they were boys and their hair textures were completely different but I'm not about to fold my hands and watch it happen to my precious little girl! Lol! So I thought if satin sleep caps help protect edges from thinning out and dryness, surely making a satin sleep cap by lining the beanie I got from the hospital when I had Mitaire will work just the same...so I purchased a quarter yard of pink satin and here's a quick pictorial...

You'll need a baby beanie cap, satin material, scissors, thread and needle

First measure the amount of satin you will need to line inside the beanie;

Turn the beanie inside out and sew the satin material to the top of the beanie where the cap is joined

Proceed to sew the two ends of the satin material inside out so that when you turn them over, the seam is on the inside. Neatly fold the edges of the cap to match with the edge of the beanie and sew the two together

Fold over the beanie, et viola!!

Wear your precious baby!!

Fingers crossed this will help to prevent thin edges or that line of demarcation, other things I'm doing include making her sleep on her tummy (only when I'm watching her) so that there's limited friction at the back of her hair, I'm also still using only Savvy and Chic whipped Shea butter in buttercream

When I apply the Shea butter on her hair, I always use the little brush they gave us at the hospital to brush her hair while giving her a gentle head massage for extra stimulation to her tender scalp....these things I believe will add up and give her really lush hair :)

That's all for now, second post for today coming up so stay tuned!!

P. S if you have sent in your pic for the 2016 6 inches of growth challenge and I am yet to respond, not to worry...I will get round to it. Thanks.

Hi ladies,
Here's wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!! If you follow me on Instagram you'd have seen my little announcement...God finally sent me MY GIRL ladies!!

From the minute I found out I was pregnant, I was a nervous wreck!! Was I going to have another boy again? This pregnancy though not unplanned was not really planned(in my head) as I had decided that we were going to wait it out a while so I MAKE SURE I DO ALL IT TOOK scientifically, using old wives tales, I mean anything suggest able to have a baby girl then I found out!! My first trimester I spent waiting, wondering, hoping this baby was a girl...I even did the ring over belly test and it spinned round my belly  which meant the baby was a girl and I excitedly showed my hubs who was as hopeful as I was mostly for my sake and his sanity...heehee!!

The obsession was real ladies but what God proved to me with this pregnancy was that HE DIDN'T NEED MY HELP and He does things at HIS TIME!! Simple!! All my obsessing and hopefulness would amount to nothing if he chose otherwise so I decided to thank Him in advance and allow HIS will to be done! I focused on just having a healthy baby...time came to find out the sex of my baby and laying there in the ultrasound room, the lady confidently said...it's a GIRL!! I said please confirm, she goes I'm gazillion times sure this is a girl! I was ecstatic but still very cautious...while I like to share bits and pieces of my life, I like to guard my testimonies till it's time for them to manifest!!

Now she is here, born on the 22nd of Dec, just few days shy of Christmas Day and 10 days after her eldest brother was born and I'm just filled with thanks giving and gratitude to God for this gift!! I wish for all you my dear readers and well wishes that God will grant you all your heart desires and give you your own special gifts and testimonies at HIS time in His own magnificent way!!

Before I sign out, I need to share with you guys just one more thing.....HER HAIR!!

My boys had curly hair when they were born and typical boy hairlines but this precious little girl God has blessed me with has a full hair line and the straightest blackest silkiest baby hair we have seen in my family for a while,I had to ask my mum if my hair was like this and she can't remember(rolls eyes lol) but you ladies bet that I have started to nurture it, I'm using the Savvy Chic whipped Shea butter on it and I bought this-

It's a baby cot anti roll head cushion that prevents babies from having a flat head and that demarcation line that usually occurs...mums with baby girls and lush hair please now, share with me any tips you have...of course I will keep researching and make sure that my Naija Baby's Hair Grows!!

Once again have a very Merry Christmas and stay blessed!!
