BE INSPIRED; KOYIN'S HAIR!!

Hiya,
How's everyone doing> Hope fine! This post is all about Koyin's hair, she recently sent me her before and after pictures since she started her hair journey and the results were stunning!! Since she started reading this blog and got her regimen together, things are looking up with her hair!!

Hear her story and be inspired!!!

I officially started my healthy hair journey in March, 2013. Thinking back, I'm not sure my hair has ever really been healthy. Growing up I had long hair that everybody said was "nice" but in retrospect, I highly doubt that it really was. It was probably just alright. Well, I kept growing and eventually I grew into the weave-age. Weave in, weave out, weave in, weave out, no break in between! Then I discovered the curling wand. For the few days I didn't have a weave in I would curl my hair with it, everyday. Heat, heat, heat, no break in between! Of course, with time, my hair broke, broke, broke!

My long hair broke so bad that I could hardly even pack it up with a hair band. I didn't know what to do so in August 2012 I just went into a salon and had the stylist cut off everything that looked like it shouldn't be part of a healthy head of hair. It was right at the top of my neck. I was ready. Ready but clueless. I was obviously clueless because I went right back to my weaves and heat till I came across naijahaircancrow in March, 2013.

Boy was I SCHOOLED! Ignorance is truly a sin. I started my journey there and then and I haven't looked back ever since. Well, I lie. Hehe. I've had a few set backs because I started it all in such a hurry (I honestly wonder where I was running to) but now I have fewer set backs and a better understanding.

My go to regimen includes:
• Pre-pooing with Hair Trigger, Hamp seed oil/Argan oil and Herbal Essence Hello Hydration conditioner or a conditioner made from shea butter and various nut oils called Olori.
• Shampooing with ElastaQP Creme Conditioning Shampoo or Holland and Barrett's Manuka Honey Shampoo.
• Deep conditioning with Mixed Chicks Deep Conditoner [my favourite of ALL my hair products :)]
• Tea rinse with Black tea and Green tea.
• Moisturising with ElastaQP Olive and Mango butter moisturiser
• Sealing with coconut oil, grapeseed oil or morrocan oil treatment.
• Oiling my scalp with castor oil and hemp seed oil
• Adding my proteins here and there as well. Every few wash days I may use Aphogee 2 minute reconstructur.
• Covering my hair with a silk scarf or satin cap to sleep.

That is my basic regimen for when I'm not trying to be all experiment-y. I'm a bit of a product junkie so I still experiment with all sorts.

Between March and now, my hair has made such an improvement in health and length. I understand my hair. On my last relaxer day I was too stunned at the results that I just had to send naijahaircangrow my progress pictures.

In June my hair was grazing my shoulders but by the end of September it was at Armpit length! I feel encouraged. With my latest results I feel like the sky is the limit! [pun intended, hehe]. I'm still not sure why I had so much new growth between relaxer days but I'm tempted to believe that it's either the fact that I have become a regular at the gym or the hemp seed oil I incorporated into my scalp treatment... or both. Either way, I'm glad :)

LOVELY RESULTS!!!Keep it up Koyin!!! All it takes is making a decision to take care of your hair and like I always say, IT WILLGROW!!
